    KABALE REGIONAL REFERRAL HOSPITAL

BOARD OF DIRECTORS CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE

Chairman Kabale Regional Referral Hospital

Dr Muhunde Anania Karekezi

Chairman Kabale Regional Referral Hospital

As chairman of the recently inaugurated Kabale Regional Referral Hospital Board of Governors, it is my honour and joy to welcome all to this website.  I would like to salute the hospital establishment headed by Dr Sophie Namasopo  for keeping the fort more especially as they combat the Covid 19 pandemic that has continued to ravage communities here and elsewhere.

The Board is the de-facto public relations arm of hospital governance and for that matter interaction with the World via websites such as this goes along way to fulfilment of our mandate.

The Hospital management is set to operationalize the recently approved Five year Strategic Development Workplans with view to realization of the Hospital Vision and Mission.

The Ministry of Health in a bid to deliver quality services to the community decided to put in place Hospital Boards and as a policy issued guidelines that describe their roles and responsibilies among other things

High on the agenda of the Board is to strengthen the relationship between service providers and the service consumers. The relationship is wont to be strained given scarcities of resources against a back ground of insufficient communication between stakeholders

The Board has determined that community involvement and or participation in hospital affairs is going to be our number one objective among others. We are talking of the people of the six districts that constitute Kabale Regional Referral Hospital catchment are; the Kigezi Region

The Government of Uganda has refurbished the hospital in terms of infrastructure on top of availing relevant diagnostic and curative equipments with a promise to ensure better welfare for workers. The magnificent Interns Hostel is in its final stages. The establishment of Kabale University Medical School is set to turn the Hospital into a fully-fledged teaching Hospital, ceteris paribus. There is a cost cutting mutual benefit in this relationship between the Medical School and the Hospital

We look forward to coordinated efforts among the stake holders and commitments on the part of the workers in order to serve our people better.

God bless you
